Unit 1: My Weekends
My weekends are usually busy because I have a part time job every Saturday and Sunday.Last weekend,I work in Q’z Cafe.The cafe opens at 9:00 AM. I have to wake up early,so I usually wake up at 7 or 8 AM. It’s very hard for me to get up early,but I have to that. However,my place of work is very pleasant. After my work,I have to do my home work by Saturday midnaight. On Saturday,I worked at cafe all day. I felt tired because many costomers came the cafe. However,costomers said “I want to eat meal here again.” The word makes me happy. On Sunday,I went shopping with my family. We bought some clothes. After shopping,We went back home. I cooked pasta for my family. They were glad. Next weekend,I will go to karaoke with my friends. We like karaoke very much.When I sing a song,I can forget nasty things of usually. And,we will go to starbucks Coffee in AEON. We like there very much. Usually we gather there. On Sunday I will sleep all day.
Unit 2: My Friend, Naoko
Naoko Hase is a friend from junior high school, and she is also my best friend. She is twenty years old. Naoko is very cute. Her eyes are black, and her face is round. Her hair is black, straight, and very beautiful. She sometimes wears glasses and jeans. Naoko is very kind. When I have been worried, I have been encouraged by her. She is my understanding friend. Sometimes she looks shy, but actually she is a very interesting and funny person. Naoko always makes me laugh. We are always together. She likes to play the drums, and her technique is wonderful! Formerly, we were bandmates, so that is a wonderful memory for me.
Naoko talks a lot about has future. She is going to graduate from junior college and she will become an office worker. I know that she will be successful because she always worked hard to do something. She will have a lot fun and success in the future, too.
Unit 3: Friendly message
How are you? I’m good. It is Tuesday afternoon and I’m sitting in a library. It is a cool autumn day in Takaoka. I’m drinking at a starbacks coffee at AEON and thinking of you. I’d like to tell the story about my trip of summer vacation.
This summer, I went to Nagaoka to watch fireworks. It was very hot day. There were many people in Nagaoka. The fireworks were very beautiful and wonderful, so we felt hapiness and joy. However, we were tired. Next, we went to Hida, Kamikouchi and Takayama to enjoy hot spring. I went there with my boy friend. First, he said “Let’s go to Osaka for shopping and eat Okonomiyaki there.” I’m looked forward to go to Osaka. However, he took me bto Hida. He told a lie and it was a suprise to me! The trip was my best memory of summer vacation.

Unit 5: My first job
Today was my first day at my part-time job. I started work at cafe in a concert hall. I had to wake up early, so I woke up at 7:40 and I took a shower. After that, I puted on makeup and tied a my hair.
I arrived on time there and exchanged greetings with owner of cafe. I was handed over a uniform for me and puted on it. I learned a lot of things from Ms.Yasuda. For example, how to cleaning, how to make coffee, how to use a cash register. The cafe had a lot of customers today, so I was into confusion. This is my first time to work a cafe, so I couldn’t work efficiently. Working at cafe was harder than I had expected.
I was very tired today. However, member of the staff of a cafe is kindness and tender, so I could work pleasantly. I’ll stick it out!
Unit 7: Changed my life
Belomging to the brass band club in high school really changed my life. The club was well-known as the strictest club at my school, so it was hard for us tobelong to it. However, I could learn a lot of things from my experience.
Before belonging to the brass band club, I didn’t have a positive attitude, and I didn’t like to appear in public. I had a lack physical strength, and I had no sense of responsibility.
When I became a third-year student, I was appointed “co-leader”. I had to bring the members, and I was in a position of leader ship. After that, I began to concerned about my club. I began to participate more. Gradually, I felt less strain. During contest season in summer, we practiced as hard as we could. It was sweltering hot in our practice room, so everyone lost weight and built up our physical strength. It was hard for us to practice everyday, but I’m don’t regret. I could learn a lot of important things from this club.
Unit 9: Mika Nakashima
Mika Nakashima is my hero. I like her personality and music very much. I have listened her music for a long time. Her music makes me vigor and relieve.
Mika was born on February 19, 1983 in Kagoshima. Mika was calm child and she like to sing. One day, Mika sent her demo tape to a record company. The staff member of the company was shocked and they were captivated by her voice like an angel. Mika was signed. On October,2001, Mika appeared on a TV. The drama’s name is “Kizudarakeno love song” and it was the first time for Mika to appear on drama. The audiences were enchanted by her superb performance. After that, her first single “STARS” was a great hit and the song placed among the top five. In 2002, Mika won three prizes called “Best new singer”. On January, 2003, “Mika Nakashima the First Tour 2003″ was held from January 29 around Japan. Mika was very nervous, but the tour was a great success. On August 31, 2005, Mika appeared movie “NANA” and “GLAMOROUS SKY” was a great hit continued for two weeks. She played the part of “Nana”. Nana is lack the finesse and not obedient, so the role of Nana was difficult, but Mika acted the role of it. 2008, her single “ORION” was a great hit. Orion has memories for me, so I was overjoyed when the song was produced.
Now Mika plays an active part in the world. I want to continue to support her, and I will listen to her music in the future.
